Job Summary
Staff Software Engineer leading complex cross-functional projects to scale Toast's backend and internationalization efforts. You will design, build, deploy and maintain highly resilient systems, mentor teammates, collaborate directly with pilot customers, advocate engineering best practices, and leverage AI tools to improve development velocity and product quality. The role emphasizes end-to-end technical leadership across a Java/Kotlin backend, frontend React stack, and data platforms, with a hybrid in-person cadence in Dublin to coordinate with the team.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in delivering high quality, reliable services to production using Java, Kotlin or other object oriented language(s)
- Proven track record of architecting, supporting and debugging large distributed & multi threaded applications.
- Drive to work across our tech stack and support other engineers in resolving challenging problems
- Passionate about making users happy and seeing people use your product in the wild
- Ability to embrace an agile mindset focused on delivering usable software
- Experience with fiscalisation, internationalization is a plus
