Job Summary
Staff Software Engineer, Data Platform responsible for designing, deploying, and scaling high-volume data pipelines that move and transform data between Datomic, Kafka, and BigQuery. Leads architectural decisions, builds fault-tolerant ETL systems with DBT, shapes streaming architecture (Kafka/BEAM) for real-time ML models, and mentors engineers while collaborating with Data Science, Product, and Business teams. Requires deep Clojure/JVM expertise, experience designing Large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines, and a track record of leading technical strategy at Staff/Principal level. Remote role available in 22 US states; non-sponsoring for OPT/H1-B. Offers include competitive compensation ($160k-$230k) and equity/benefits with strong focus on data infrastructure excellence.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years software or data engineering experience
- BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
- production-grade experience with Clojure and JVM
- experience building large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines
- experience with Datomic, BigQuery, Kafka, BEAM, Flink, Spark
- data infrastructure design and mentoring teams
- remote-work capable in the US
