Job Summary
Staff Software Engineer on the Command Connector team at Verkada. Responsibilities include leading code reviews, debugging, and bug fixes; developing camera features in C/C++, Go and Python; collaborating with hardware teams; experimenting with new development boards; pushing new features OTA; and contributing to a scalable cloud backend and AI/CV features with a focus on security and high-performance inference. Requires experience in Linux system programming, embedded development, Yocto-based workflows, and strong communication skills; role involves working onsite in San Mateo, CA.
Required Qualifications
- BS/MS in Computer Science (or similar degree)
- 5+ years of software development experience for Linux in system programming languages (C, C++, Rust, Go, etc)
- Experience in embedded development or experience with low-level system software development
- Good knowledge of operating systems and computer architecture
- Good communication & documentation skills
- Willing to work onsite five days per week
