Job Summary
As a Staff Software Engineer focusing on cloud infrastructure and applications, you will design and implement the core infrastructure of Notable's cloud platform. Responsibilities include creating and supporting DevOps strategies, defining infrastructure tools and processes for continuous delivery, and improving infrastructure reliability. The role demands expertise in SaaS delivery using AWS or GCP, experience with Terraform, strong scripting capabilities, and familiarity with Linux fundamentals. You will ensure high availability and quality in service delivery while maintaining robust documentation of infrastructure best practices.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant work experience
- Hands-on SaaS delivery experience with either AWS or GCP systems including incident response
- Experience in automating build, test, package, release, and configuration management
- Experience with Terraform
- Good understanding of Linux/Unix fundamentals and debugging skills
- Strong scripting skills (ability to write in one of Bash, Python, NodeJS, Go, other)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience defining and deploying monitoring, metrics, and logging systems
- Recent hands-on experience creating and managing containerized deployments (Kubernetes)
- Demonstrable experience with networks, security, load balancers, DNS, etc
- Rigor in high-code quality, automated testing, and other engineering best practices
Additional Requirements
- Role requires in-person collaboration for Bay Area–based employees, requiring presence in San Mateo office at least three days a week
- For remote employees, occasional travel to headquarters is expected for company-wide events and onsite gatherings
