Job Summary
Staff Software Engineer responsible for advanced hands-on development, technical design, and architecture across multi-platform systems. Lead technical design and development within the SDLC, act as a tech lead to establish engineering best practices, standards, and code reviews, and provide mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers. Emphasis on architecture ownership, applying high-level design methodologies, and ensuring scalable, fault-tolerant solutions in a cloud-centric environment (AWS preferred) with experience in agile settings and modern tech stacks (RESTful APIs, microservices, containers). The role supports a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and is based in Toronto, Canada.
Required Qualifications
- At least 6 years of hands-on development experience (Java, Python, Go or similar OO languages)
- At least 6 years in application and/or data design, architecture and development
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud)
- Experience mentoring junior/intermediate associates and guiding stakeholders
- Bachelor's, Master’s or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field
