Staff Software Engineer: Applied AI

Job Summary
Design and ship end-to-end AI agents that handle real logistics work, including customs compliance, document processing, and exception management. Cross organizational boundaries to deeply understand problems, align stakeholders, and move fast from idea to production. Work directly with operators and domain experts to turn ambiguous challenges into shipped solutions. This Staff Software Engineer role focuses on building cutting-edge AI-powered applications within a small, senior team reporting directly to the VP of Engineering. You will own the full lifecycle from problem definition to deployment, helping write the playbook for applied AI in enterprise logistics.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- Extensive experience building with LLMs
- Strong product instincts
- LLM fluency including agent patterns, RAG, prompt engineering, tool use, and evaluation
- Full-stack capability in TypeScript and Next.js
- Entrepreneurial drive
- Excellent communication skills
- Audacious appetite for impact
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with workflow orchestration (Temporal, etc.)
- Experience building internal tools or operator-facing applications
