Job Summary
Build API gateways, wrappers, and middleware for AI agents while creating secure access patterns for tools, metadata, and content systems. Develop agentic workflows for mastering, localization, and delivery, implementing tracing, audit logging, governance, approvals, and fallback paths. Convert AI prototypes into production microservices and construct event-driven services with reliable APIs. Lead design reviews and mentor engineers on backend systems, Java, Python, or Node.js. This 12-month hybrid role in Glendale, CA requires 8+ years of backend experience and offers up to $100/hr on W2 for candidates with LangGraph, LangChain, or MCP expertise.
Required Qualifications
- GC, USC, All valid EADs except OPT, CPT, H1B
- 8+ years backend or systems engineering
- Java, Python, or Node.js
- AI-powered or workflow-centric platform experience
- LangGraph, LangChain, or similar agentic framework
- MCP or AI middleware experience
- AWS cloud experience
- Docker and Kubernetes
- Terraform, CDK, or similar IaC
- Kafka, EventBridge, SNS/SQS
- API design, observability, testing, and CI/CD
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 8+ years of backend or systems engineering experience
- 3+ years building AI-powered or workflow-centric platforms
- Strong production experience with cloud, containers, and IaC
- Experience leading technical delivery across engineering, ML, and product teams
- Hybrid (4 days onsite per week, no flexibility)
