Job Summary
Senior backend software engineer in Bangalore to design, build, and ship features powering Operant's AI and Agentic security products. The role involves end-to-end ownership of significant components, live debugging for APAC customers, involvement in on-call rotation, async collaboration across timezones, and close partnership with APAC Customer Success for deployment milestones, feature requests, and product improvements. Must have 8+ years of backend experience, strong skills in Go/Rust/Python, cloud-native and Kubernetes expertise across AWS/Azure/GCP, knowledge of runtime/API security and CNAPP, and hands-on experience with MCP, agentic AI platforms, LLM orchestration, or AI agent security. The role requires senior IC-level autonomy, ability to communicate across timezones, and a customer-facing technical stance.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of backend software engineering experience shipping production systems at scale
- Strong backend skills in one or more of Go, Rust, Python (or similar)
- Hands-on experience with on-call rotations and production incident response
- Deep experience with cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes, and container security across AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Strong working knowledge of runtime security, API security, CNAPP, or cloud workload protection
- Hands-on experience with at least one of MCP, agentic AI platforms, LLM orchestration, or AI agent security
- Proven track record as a senior IC with autonomy in owning systems and guiding through documentation and code review
- Experience working across timezones with disciplined async communication and clear written articulation
- Customer-facing technical experience — debugging live with customers and communicating with senior security audiences
- Conversant with AI tooling and deploying AI products while maintaining engineering discipline
