Job Summary
Staff Backend Engineer (AI) to bridge robust backend systems with Generative AI for Tide’s agentic platform. Build core services and APIs, design workflow orchestration and tool integration, integrate bought components where appropriate, and productionise AI capabilities with a focus on reliability, security, observability, and developer usability. Collaborate with product, data, platform, and security teams to create scalable, well-architected services and reusable patterns for AI-enabled workflows. Flexible working options with remote collaboration across globally distributed teams.
Required Qualifications
- Strong backend or platform engineering experience in production environments
- Good judgement across APIs, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and service design
- Experience integrating internal and third-party platforms
- Experience with AI infrastructure or orchestration is helpful, but not essential
- Experience in highly regulated industries (Fintech, Healthtech, etc.) where safety and compliance are valuable, but not essential
