Job Summary
Senior Staff Software Engineer at Adarga, owning the architecture of a major data-platform component and leading multi-team technical initiatives end-to-end. You will set engineering standards across distributed systems handling multimodal data, shape deployment stories across managed cloud, customer cloud, on premises, edge, and airgapped contexts, and lead AI-assisted development. You’ll collaborate with Security, Product, and Mission stakeholders to ensure access control, data protection, and accreditation demands, and you will mentor others, run design reviews, and represent engineering externally. The role requires production Python proficiency, experience with agent frameworks and container orchestration, and a track record of designing scalable, reliable systems with strong design judgment and clear written communication.
Required Qualifications
- You must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC). This typically requires UK nationality, dual nationality or a minimum of five years continuous UK residency.
- Experience leading multi-team technical initiatives from ambiguity to production.
- Production proficiency in Python.
- Deep experience designing systems that handle multiple data modalities, including storage, indexing, and serving patterns.
- Hands on experience with container orchestration and deploying across heterogeneous infrastructure (including airgapped environments).
- Recent hands-on experience building production systems with agent frameworks.
- Expertise in AI-assisted development workflows using tools like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor.
- Strong API and cloud infrastructure fundamentals.
- Ability to write design docs, decision records, post mortems, and technical strategy.
- Strong communication with non-engineers (product, security, mission).
- Ability to mentor, run design reviews, and unblock teams.
