Job Summary
Support customer product designs with high-speed PAM4 DSPs and Transimpedance Amplifiers for optical modules, electrical cables, and retimers. Address technical questions beyond software, write and support microcontroller code for DSP APIs, and collaborate on GUI definition and development. Develop conference and customer demonstrations of DSP capabilities while optimizing SERDES and optical links through signal processing block configuration. Travel around California and occasionally Asia. MaxLinear is a global fabless semiconductor company improving communication networks through integrated RF, analog, and mixed-signal solutions for wired and wireless infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient in programming languages C, C++, and Python
- Knowledge of latest OIF's Common Management Interface Specification (CMIS)
- Experience programming microcontrollers such as STMicroelectronics STM32 series
- Knowledge of I2C and SPI interfaces and developing drivers
- Experience with optimizing PAM4 signals for receiving and transmitting
- Experience working with lab equipment such as BERTs, DCAs, and traffic analyzers
- Knowledge of SERDES interfaces, signal processing blocks, and performance metrics
- Knowledge of and writing control code for EML and MZ based modulators
- BS in Electrical Engineering or related + 5 years of experience, or MS + 3 years of experience, or Ph.D.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with configuring and coding for RTOS, GUI development, and signal processing experience preferred
- Experience working with lab equipment such as BERTs, DCAs, and traffic analyzers preferred
- Knowledge of SERDES interfaces, signal processing blocks, and performance metrics preferred
- Knowledge of and writing control code for EML and MZ based modulators preferred
- Some travel around California and occasionally Asia
