Staff Scientist/Biostatistician - Geisinger Program Evaluation

Job Summary
The Staff Scientist/Biostatistician will conduct rigorous evaluations of programs aimed at improving patient health and efficiency at Geisinger. Responsibilities include leading study design and analysis primarily using R, coordinating with team members, and disseminating results to stakeholders. The role requires expertise in biostatistics, strong critical thinking, and advanced statistical training. Collaboration with the Behavioral Insights Team is expected, and the candidate should have a proven track record in empirical research and project management.
Required Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in biostatistics, epidemiology, health economics, public health, or another relevant scholarly discipline
- Training in advanced, quasi-experimental and observational statistics
- Experience using statistical software (preferably R, others acceptable)
- Minimum 3 years’ post-graduate experience managing healthcare or other research projects
Desired Qualifications
- Experience implementing applied research in a healthcare and/or relevant industry setting
- Experience with open science best practices
- Training in program evaluation or health services research
- Experience with econometrics
- Experience with epidemiology
- Experience with implementation science
- Experience in interdisciplinary research and working in collaborative teams
- Experience in the healthcare industry or academia
- Experience with programming and databases (e.g., Python, SQL)
