Job Summary
Assess individualized patient needs and provide nursing care using a Family Centered approach for the C4A BPD NICU. Communicate care priorities to LPNs, PCAs, Unit Coordinators, and Allied Health personnel while planning, implementing, and evaluating care with Evidence-Based Practices. Utilize Therapeutic Communication to monitor physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and families. Engage in workplace community activities by participating in data collection, auditing, and Quality Improvement initiatives. Document according to organizational standards and represent staff at relevant meetings. Requires 2 years of NICU experience, BSN or Associate degree with commitment to obtain BSN within 5 years, current Ohio Nursing License, and CPR certification. 0.75 FTE, nights (7p-7a), 5 12-hr shifts per pay period with 48 weekends/year. Flat rate pay $47.80/hr plus night shift differential and $2/hr critical care pay after orientation. Nationwide Children's Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of NICU experience
- BSN; Associate degree with commitment to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio
- Current CPR certification
- Willingness to obtain and maintain NRP, PALS, ACLS, APHON or other necessary certification as determined by your manager based on business unit
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to provide culturally competent care with a demonstrated commitment to ensuring quality and safety initiatives
- Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Must be available for weekend shifts (Sat/Sun)
- Must be available for nights (7p-7a)
