Job Summary
Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the Nursing Process, assessing physical and psychosocial conditions to develop and communicate patient plans of care. Provide direct advocacy, educate patients and families, and document daily group notes and activity therapy assessments. Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement interventions, evaluate outcomes, and revise plans as needed. Administer medications and treatments adhering to the five rights, respond to crises calmly, and participate in performance improvement, clinical research, and regulatory readiness activities. Supervise non-RN personnel, act as a preceptor, and support unit initiatives including Magnet and Joint Certification. Maintain equipment, complete continuous training, and adhere to all hospital policies and dress codes.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Valid license as Registered Nurse in Connecticut
- BLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years previous RN experience
- Maintain a minimum of 6 contact hours annually
- Adhere to hospital and department specific dress code policy
