Job Summary
Implement standards of care and policies for breastfeeding management while serving as a resource for patients and providers. Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching materials for antepartum and postpartum breastfeeding in one-on-one consultations or classes. Provide telephone counseling to community mothers and collaborate with physicians and families to establish a team approach for lactation support. Evaluate and maintain appropriate breastfeeding aids and equipment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and immediate reporting of malfunctions or injuries.
Required Qualifications
- graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations
- two (2) years of full-time experience as a RN post-orientation or post-residency training
- Certified in American Heart Association's Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)
- Other REQUIRED cardiopulmonary resuscitation certifications (ACLS, NRP, PALS, etc.)
- Other REQUIRED RN attributes
- Must be available for weekend shifts
Desired Qualifications
- BSN degree
- National Certification in Clinical Specialty
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in lactation
