Job Summary
Conduct individualized age-specific patient assessments and develop nursing diagnoses for pediatric admissions and ongoing care. Coordinate cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures, including scheduling, patient preparation, and bedside circulation per AORN guidelines. Deliver patient and family education while documenting all interventions, assessments, and response to therapy in compliance with hospital policies. Prioritize interventions based on continual reassessment and collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to revise care plans. Mentor student nurses and provide clinical support as a relief preceptor. Requires 36-hour lifestyle shift from 0900-2130 with weekend and holiday patterns.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience
- Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure current and valid in the state of Nebraska
- Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (except NICU)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NICU only)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Cath Lab, CARES and ED only)
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ED only)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (ED only)
- Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ED only)
- Must be able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature, without loss of efficiency or composure, and be able to perform under stressful conditions when confronted with multiple requests, demonstrating prioritizing skills
- Regular attendance at work
