Job Summary
Conduct individualized age-specific patient and family assessments, identify nursing diagnoses, and develop care plans using protocols and collaborative problem guidelines. Perform reassessments based on changes in patient condition, communicate updates to physicians and families, and coordinate cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures including scheduling, permits, and bedside assistance following AORN standards. Administer interventions, document accurate responses to therapy and procedural changes in electronic medical records, and provide patient education regarding discharge needs. Prioritize interventions under stressful conditions, mentor student nurses, and accept assignments to teach clinical skills as a relief preceptor. Requires 1500-0330 shift with weekend and holiday rotation, including on-call responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience
- Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure current and valid in the state of Nebraska
- Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (except NICU)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NICU only)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Cath Lab, CARES and ED only)
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ED only)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (ED only)
- Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ED only)
- Schedule: 1500-0330 with weekend and holiday rotation - 36hrs
- Regular attendance at work
