Job Summary
Staff RN in the Critical Care Unit providing safe, therapeutic care to acutely ill patients with medical/surgical diagnoses. Responsibilities include planning, directing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care; supervising LVN/CNA/nursing students and other staff; adhering to identified nursing standards; competency in IV therapy and medication administration; contributing to Performance Improvement activities; delivering care within a union, non-exempt hospital setting; working 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM); collaborating with the unit Manager/Director and interdisciplinary teams to promote patient outcomes and unit teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in nursing (minimum)
- California RN licensure (current)
- ACLS certification when appropriate
- BLS certification
- One-year acute care experience (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (preferred)
- Current RN experience in the specific service/department (preferred)
- Basic computer skills (required)
- ACLS/BLS as applicable
