Job Summary
Staff Research Associate 2 will design and conduct experiments in microbiology and immunology, process, bank, and maintain human blood and tissue specimens, and analyze data. The role includes training students in experimental procedures, developing standard operating procedures with the PI, and presenting findings to the PI and lab meetings. The position involves handling hazardous biological and chemical materials in accordance with safety guidelines and supporting daily lab management with mentoring and potential development of leadership skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the required area of specialization and one year of professional research experience either in the field or in a laboratory; OR One year of experience as a Staff Research Associate I in Nevada State service; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
- Preferred Qualifications Candidates with BSL2 and BSL2+ lab experience, and those who have completed coursework in cellular and molecular biology, immunology, and microbiology are encouraged to apply.
