Job Summary
Provide expert employee relations guidance and support to managers and staff in Amgen's Operations function, including performance management, disciplinary action, and workplace conflicts. Conduct and document thorough, impartial HR investigations to determine policy violations and prepare supporting documentation. Partner with regional HR Leaders, Compliance, and Legal teams to investigate potential violations, analyze reasonable accommodation requests, and ensure compliant ER practices. Track cases in the company's case management system and assist in implementing process improvements and training on HR policies. Work a hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days per week on-site at manufacturing sites in Rhode Island, North Carolina, or Ohio.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate degree OR Master's degree and 2 years of Staff Relations experience OR Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Staff Relations experience OR Associate's degree and 8 years of Staff Relations experience OR High School diploma/GED and 10 years of Staff Relations experience
- Ability to Work on site at one of Amgen's manufacturing facilities in Rhode Island, Cambridge, North Carolina and/or Ohio
- Strong Human Resources background with 4+ years of experience in Employee Relations
- Experience advising on performance management, discipline, and involuntary terminations of employment
- Knowledge and experience of employment laws and ER practices
- Experience conducting internal HR investigations
- Ability to learn and fairly apply company policy, investigation procedures, and regulatory guidelines within scope of duties
- Strong judgment, discretion, and professionalism in handling complex and confidential matters
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, Teams, Workday, and ER case management systems
- Flexible working hours due to needs of manufacturing shifts
- Regular on-site presence a minimum of 3 days per week
