Job Summary
Provide patient and family-centered nursing care on the Surgery Unit while upholding the ANA Code of Ethics and Indiana Nurse Practice Act. Manage time and resources effectively to prioritize patient acuity, assign appropriate cases, and apply evidence-based practice for cost-saving improvements. Foster relationships with patients, providers, and co-workers by balancing diverse needs through patient rounding and proactive safety reporting. Maintain a therapeutic environment, adhere to standard precautions, and participate in peer reviews and clinical advancement programs. Night shift coverage with 36 scheduled weekly hours.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN)
- Current licensure by the Indiana State Board of Nurses' Registration and Nursing Education as an active Registered Nurse
- If a graduate from a nursing school that is not accredited, a minimum of five years of acute care nursing experience
- If a graduate from a nursing school that is not accredited, an advanced degree from an accredited school
- Area specific required education (e.g., ACLS, BLS, PALS, specialty certification)
- Night Shift availability
- 36 weekly hours availability
Desired Qualifications
- MSN enrollment
- BSN within five years from date of hire (for those not currently holding it)
