Job Summary
Medical Surgical Unit Registered Nurse on a Per Diem shift. Responsibilities include assessing patients across age groups, documenting thoroughly, applying nursing care plans, recognizing unsafe or life-threatening situations, and delivering care appropriate to the patient’s developmental level. Enhanced pay incentives include a 15% RN differential for high-need units (ED, ICU/Tele, PIP, Med-Surg, MCH) and an additional night-shift differential for 11pm–7am shifts. Per Diem RN differential applies to select units. Per Diem position emphasizes bedside patient care with emphasis on effective communication and adherence to nursing processes.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Connecticut
- Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire
- Current NVCIT (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training) certification or within 3 months of hire
