Job Summary
Manage goal-directed nursing care through the nursing process and primary nursing principles in the Observation Unit, assessing and diagnosing patient and family needs to develop realistic problem lists. Implement medical plans of care and nursing interventions while evaluating patient responses to assure overall quality. Maintain accurate documentation of care for the health care team and keep current with certifications including BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Function as a role model for staff and perform responsibilities required by the emergency unit/critical care division. Schedule is 7am-7:30pm days.
Required Qualifications
- 2 year / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum one year hospital medical/surgical experience
- Valid NYS Registered Nurse license
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications within 6 months from date of hire
- TNCC certification within 1 year of date of hire
- Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects
- Occasional climbing, crouching, kneeling, and stooping, fit testing
- Frequent typing/clerical/dexterity, grasping, hearing, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, seeing/monitor/computer use, standing, talking, walking, and visual acuity (color, depth, perception)
Desired Qualifications
- 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Critical care nursing experience
- ENPC and SANE certifications
