Job Summary
Manage goal-directed nursing care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process and primary nursing principles. Assess and diagnose patient and family needs to develop realistic problem lists and plans of care. Implement medical plans, nursing interventions, and procedures while evaluating patient responses to assure quality care. Maintain accurate documentation of all nursing care to integrate information for the health care team. Keep current knowledge, certifications, and licensure while serving as a role model for staff. Follow national patient safety standards and evidence-based practice standards.
Required Qualifications
- 2 Year/Associate Degree in Nursing
- Valid NYS RN license
- Minimum 1 year hospital Med/Surg experience
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- TNCC Certification
- EPNC certification
- SANE certification
- Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects
- Occasional climbing, crouching, kneeling, stooping, fit testing
- Frequent typing/clerical/dexterity, grasping, hearing, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, seeing/monitor/computer use, standing, talking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception), walking
- Occasional chemical, explosives, mechanical, radiation/radiant energy
- Frequent bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure
- Occasional odors
Desired Qualifications
- 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Critical care nursing experience
