Job Summary
Performs diagnostic radiographic examinations according to scanning protocols, applying radiation protection principles and ensuring effective patient care. Assists physicians with procedures, prepares supplies and equipment, monitors patient needs, and presents studies to physicians for examination. Maintains documentation, develops film via automatic processing, and adheres to quality assurance, safety, infection control, and departmental policies. Requires graduation from an AMA/ACHA-accredited radiography program or equivalent, plus Basic Life Support certification within one month of hire; ARRT radiography certification; and no specific work experience required. Role involves clinical duties in a hospital setting with opportunities for professional development and ongoing education.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent or combination of education and/or experience
- Graduate of Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (AMA) or accredited radiography program
- Basic Life Support certification via American Heart Association or American Red Cross (must be obtained within one month of hire)
- Basic Life Support certification (mandatory; online only without skills assessment not sufficient)
- Radiography (R) Certification and Registration - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
