Job Summary
Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department delivers ionizing radiation per physician prescription, operates radiation-producing equipment with safety measures, and performs complex/ precise treatment procedures. Responsibilities include quality control monitoring, delivering precise therapy to designated treatment areas, patient assessment and care across age groups, EMR documentation, supporting team tasks, recognizing limits and seeking guidance, reporting adverse reactions, educating patients and families on side effects and treatment aids, ensuring accurate treatment per prescriptions, simulating new patients, scheduling, ensuring safety protocols, mobility assessment, wearing radiation badges, universal precautions, participating in daily warm-ups to maintain output within tolerances, and contributing to on-call rotations; may involve on-site teaching of RTT/RTR students. Requires graduation from an accredited radiation therapy program with ARRT-T certification and BLS, and a minimum of 2 years experience; location in Roswell, GA with WellStar Health System.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree or accredited program in radiation therapy
- ARRT-T - ARRT Radiation Therapy
- BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Basic Life Support - Instructor (where applicable)
- Minimum 2 years experience in Radiation Therapy
