Job Summary
Administer prescribed doses of radiation to patients using a linear accelerator, verify prescribed treatment dose before each treatment and ensure correct fields/angles. Simulate patients with a simulator, CT scanner or similar devices to accurately localize treatment areas, place protective devices to shield healthy tissue, maintain detailed treatment charts, monitor patient progress and report any complications, adhere to radiation safety procedures, perform machine safety checks, collaborate closely with the Radiation Oncologist and therapy team to prepare treatment plans, and be available for on-call duties. Maintain professional conduct and contribute to team goals while meeting deadlines and complying with ethics and program requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience
- ARRT Board certified, preferred
- Graduate of an accredited school of radiation therapy technology
- Certification in Radiation Therapy Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist
- Two years clinical experience in similar setting, preferred
