Job Summary
Lead cross-functional teams of engineers and designers to deliver mid-size to large industrial projects on time, within budget, and in scope. Manage client expectations, perform critical path analysis, and authorize billing while maintaining project documentation and reporting resource utilization and profitability. Act as the primary client point of contact, resolving complex issues and mentoring Associate Project Managers. Prepare proposals including scope definition, schedule development, and budget estimates for new pursuits. Adhere to all safety standards and practices while supporting business development opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Construction, or Civil Engineering
- five to seven years of relevant working experience with advanced knowledge in mechanical engineering
- equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Five to seven years of experience in project management/execution
- understanding of standard project management processes/procedures
- PMP certified
- committed to obtain the certification within 12 months
- High level interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy
- Ability to manage small to mid-size, and some large, projects
- Proficient in executing fast tracked projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to meet project deadlines
- Scope management and client management skills
- Engineering consulting firm experience
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- capable of interacting effectively with plant operations from the maintenance level through and including the executive level
- Proven track record of accomplishments as a project manager, senior project engineer, or lead engineer on industrial projects
- capable of supervising and directing a team of engineers, contractors, and vendors
- Working knowledge of excel including macros
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task while working on numerous projects simultaneously at various stages of completion
- Ability to support business development opportunities
- Possess and able to maintain a valid driver's license
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office
- MS Project
- Travel and/or field experience
