Job Summary
Staff Project Engineer in Jacksonville, FL leads site-wide capital projects for manufacturing platforms, directing budget development, schedules, scope, and governance; acts as technical lead for capital initiatives from concept to delivery; leads multi-functional teams, ensures adherence to FDA/Quality policies, and aligns project outcomes with site leadership. Responsibilities include delivering equipment upgrades, product line installations, commissioning, validation, developing budgets, obtaining capital approvals, and maintaining alignment with Johnson & Johnson Credo.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, engineering, or business management preferred
- At least 5 years’ experience leading multi-functional teams delivering capital projects to plan within a manufacturing environment
- Budget ownership and direct accountability of capital investments in excess of $1MM
- Experience with installation, commissioning, and validation of automated process equipment in a regulated medical device industry
- Familiar with FDA regulatory standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Experience developing budgets and business cases for capital appropriations exceeding $1M USD
- Proven track record of forecasting project cash flows and managing spend to forecast
- Familiar with Process Safety Management (PSM) and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) for equipment installations
- Up to 10% travel domestically and internationally
- Project Management certification preferred
