Job Summary
Staff Production Operations Engineer at Redpanda responsible for driving reliability operations across a globally distributed engineering team. Own on-call and incident lead rotations, lead blameless post-incident reviews, and build AI-powered automation to reduce operational toil using Redpanda's ADP platform. Maintain and evolve runbooks and incident processes, coordinate cross-geo incident response, and push process improvements across the incident lifecycle (severity models, triage, alert noise reduction, follow-ups). Required to have 5+ years in SRE/DevOps/production ops, experience with incident management tooling and observability stacks, proficiency in Go, and familiarity with cloud providers and IaC. Nice-to-have includes building agents or automations with LLMs and familiarity with streaming infrastructure like Redpanda or Apache Kafka. Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or production operations in large-scale, highly reliable environments
- Proven track record leading initiatives end-to-end from design to production
- Hands-on experience with incident management tooling (incident.io, PagerDuty, or similar) and observability stacks (Datadog, Grafana, Sentry, CloudWatch, or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of reliability concepts: MTTD, MTTR, MTTA, error budgets, SLOs
- Experience building automation and tooling to reduce operational toil
- Proficiency in Go (or comparable systems language)
- Experience with AI-assisted software development workflows including tools like Claude Code
- Working knowledge of AWS / Azure / GCP with infrastructure as code
- Strong written communication and ability to drive alignment across engineering teams without direct authority
