Staff Product Designer, AI Foundation
$189,400–$274,300 year
On-siteSan Francisco, California, United States or San Jose, California, United States
Job Summary
Lead a squad of designers across complex, cross-functional product spaces to define agentic and hybrid UI experiences for Adobe's enterprise customer ecosystem. Guide the team through divergent exploration and convergent debate to refine clear points of view, while sharpening delivery by rigorously practicing restraint. Contribute to ongoing initiatives spanning conversational, agentic, and hybrid surfaces, communicating complex ideas through high-fidelity Figma explorations, whiteboard diagrams, and AI-assisted prototypes. Partner deeply with Product Management, Engineering, Research, and Marketing to cut through confusion and make the path forward clear. Raise the craft bar by applying strong interaction and visual design judgment within the Spectrum design system, balancing long-horizon north-star thinking with close attention to quality in the build phase. Track industry patterns and help the team learn from what isn't working.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of product design experience shipping high-quality work within a design system at companies known for design excellence
- Significant enterprise software design experience
- Exceptional critical thinking and design judgment — the ability to read a situation, identify the right phase of design, and select the right tools and methods accordingly
- Strong UX architecture instincts — a mental model for scalability, object mapping, and product composability
- Multi-modal communication skills — the ability to communicate design decisions clearly and credibly to engineers, PMs, researchers, and business leaders, using whatever format serves the moment: prototype, diagram, document, or conversation
- A demonstrated point of view — you can explain why you made the choices you made, what you considered and cut, and what you'd do differently next time
- You are a visionary. You can hold the long view, seeing where the space is going, not just where it is, and use that perspective to guide your team toward work that matters
Desired Qualifications
- Experience designing accessible and inclusive interfaces for people with disabilities
- Familiarity with WCAG standards and testing for accessibility compliance
- Certifications such as CPACC, WAS, CPWA, or ADS from IAAP
- Prototyping fluency (including AI-assisted prototyping)
