Job Summary
Staff Principal Software Engineer focused on migrating and operating software for cloud and applications, including building IaC, containerization, and cloud deployment to support secure, scalable mobile control and cloud-based services in an IL-5 cloud environment, with a requirement for relevant STEM degrees and the ability to obtain government clearance. Responsibilities include collaborating with software engineering, systems engineering, and DevOps in Agile environments, and leading teams of technical individuals to advance cloud adoption, data migration, and infrastructure automation. Qualifications emphasize extensive experience with containers, IaC, SDN, scripting languages, and cloud platforms, plus formal degrees and security clearances. The role is onsite in El Segundo, CA, with 10% travel and relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 12+ years of experience OR Master’s Degree in STEM with 10+ years OR PhD in STEM with 4+ years
- Ability to obtain and maintain US Government clearance and SAP
- Experience with infrastructure components (VMs, containers, network, storage, Linux/Windows, IT security concepts)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and microservices
- Experience with software-defined networking
- Experience with a coding or scripting language (C, C++, Java, Python)
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (Atlassian Jira, Confluence)
- Preferred qualifications include: Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Software/Electrical/Computer Engineering; active TS/SCI clearance; cloud platform certifications (AWS/Azure); security certifications (Security+), cloud networking, IAM/RBAC
