Staff/Principal Electrical Engineer

Job Summary
Lead technical advisory and mentorship for diverse engineering teams executing full-cycle product development across robotics, climate, and health sectors. Define priorities, identify risks, and guide electronics and embedded systems from board-level architecture to system integration. Design electrical systems meeting operational and cost constraints, manage component selection, and develop test plans for hardware validation. Execute mixed/analog, power, and digital circuit design, lead board bring-up and debug, and oversee design reviews and FMEA analysis. Manage electrical system budgets and ensure alignment across mechanical, software, and regulatory functions.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering and/or other relevant educational background
- 12+ years of applied experience successfully developing electrical and embedded systems
- In-depth hardware design experience with both system-level and component-level development
- Experience with PLCs/microcontrollers; programming, architecture, debugging
- Experience designing custom PCB's (in Altium or equivalent) and preparing schematics for manufacturing
- Experience designing automotive grade power & communication wire harnesses
- Demonstrated ability to foresee and identify technical risk, and engineering mindset of addressing risks early
- Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting of sophisticated systems including circuit issues, EMI/EMC/ESD mitigation
- Experience managing projects, mentoring other engineers, and interfacing with technical customers
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills to levels above, below and in-line
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated full-cycle experience (early stage ideation, to production, to post launch development) of multiple hardware products
- Experience successfully launching products in one or more of the following industries: industrial robotics & automation, clean/renewable technologies, health & wellness technologies
- Recognized thought leadership and continuous improvement as demonstrated by trade association activity, completed training programs and/or other distinctions
