Job Summary
Assistant Director of the Extended Day Program (Part-Time) supervises daily Extended Day operations from student arrival to dismissal, ensures program compliance per VDOE guidelines to maintain exempt licensure, maintains student records per DSS guidelines, manages attendance and dismissal processes, handles sign-in/out, communicates with parents about behavior concerns, supports students' social and emotional development, collaborates with the Director to lead enrichment activities, coordinates with other divisions, plans on-campus activities and field trips, oversees setup, snack prep, bus dismissal, and safety of equipment, and performs other duties; requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years in a day care/educational setting, First Aid/CPR and MAT certifications, ability to lift up to 25 pounds, and ongoing professional development per Virginia DSS requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2+ years of related work experience in a day care or educational setting
- First Aid/CPR and MAT certified
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work with children
- Strong verbal and written communication in English
- Proficiency with computer systems
- Stay up to date with professional development trainings as required by Virginia Department of Social Services
