Job Summary
Staff Platform Engineer to provide technical leadership for PadSplit's platform infrastructure and backend architecture, driving platform strategy, improving system reliability, developer productivity, and partnering across engineering teams to build secure, scalable solutions that support long-term growth. Responsibilities include defining and driving platform technical roadmap, architecture leadership for complex systems, establishing engineering standards and patterns, owning reliability through observability and incident processes, cross-team collaboration with engineering/product/design leaders, mentoring engineers, developing backend services and tooling, and identifying technical debt and scalability risks.
Required Qualifications
- Django mastery
- Cloud architecture in AWS
- Systems design for resilient, secure, scalable systems
- Operational excellence in observability, monitoring, incident management
- Platform expertise for large-scale backend platforms and distributed systems
- Mentorship and communication to develop engineers
- Technical influence across teams
