Job Summary
Staff Platform Engineer to set the technical direction for Flower's platform engineering group, focusing on DevOps, SRE, and developer experience. You will own and evolve ECS & EKS on AWS, Modal as a core compute substrate, service templates, autoscaling, networking, and developer tooling; drive CI/CD practices with GitHub Actions, and help stand up Flower's SRE practices (on-call, incident response, SLOs). You will mentor platform engineers, partner with product squads (trading and AI systems), and shape platform investments to improve speed, safety, and productivity. The role is based in Stockholm with a hybrid in-office work model, and the corporate environment emphasizes cloud-native, scalable infrastructure, observability, and a product-oriented view of the platform.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years engineering experience
- backend or product engineer experience
- lead technical work across a group of engineers
- experience operating production workloads on AWS (ECS/EKS)
- practical experience with Modal/Lambda/Cloud Run
- CI/CD design (GitHub Actions or similar)
- SRE fundamentals (on-call design, incident response, SLOs, postmortems)
- infrastructure as code (Terraform)
- observability stacks (Grafana Cloud, OTel)
