Job Summary
Create ongoing relationships with patients through access, continuity, education, and comprehensive care via diagnosis and treatment. Support organization priorities of patient care, quality, education, and sustainability while adhering to Patient-Centered Medical Home principles. Provide timely follow-up including chart notations, lab review, and referrals to specialists, arranging after-hours coverage as required. Offer on-site clinical supervision and backup for Family Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. Meet regularly with the Medical Director to review patient care issues and contribute to treatment guideline development. Participate in provider meetings, QA sessions, and ongoing training.
Required Qualifications
- Active California License and good standing with the Medical Quality Control Board of the State of California
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in primary care medical specialty
- Current CPR (BLS) certifications
- Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR)
- Demonstrated proficiency with all tasks on the most current Staff Physician competency list
- Demonstrates knowledge of compliance issues within the community clinic environment
- Uses incident reporting system when appropriate
- Complies with HIPAA policies
- Completes assigned policy review items
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to be sensitive with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds
- Experience with Outlook email function and EMR
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Occasional evening shifts
- Rotating Saturday shifts
- Lift up to twenty (20) pounds
- Travel to other office and community locations
Desired Qualifications
- FP most desirable/preferred
- Proficiency in Spanish and English (speak, read, and write) preferred
