Job Summary
Conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, and manage chronic conditions for the unique patient population within the facility. Formulate working diagnoses, develop treatment plans, and evaluate therapeutic regimens while responding to medical emergencies throughout the site. Coordinate educational and training activities, lead rounds in medical and infirmary units, and ensure compliance with State and Federal mandates. Collaborate with correctional officers and other medical professionals to maintain patient safety and dignity. This role requires an MD or DO with an unrestricted license, Board Certification in Family or Internal Medicine, and DEA registration. Full-time and part-time positions are available with pay ranging from $120.00 to $137.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO)
- Must hold a current unrestricted license as a physician in STATE
- A current DEA registration in STATE
- Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family or Internal Medicine
- Be able to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA required)
- Must possess strong written communication and verbal skills and have strong computer skills
- Experience in general medicine
- A strong knowledge of current medical principles and practices
- The ability to collaborate with medical team
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
