Job Summary
Staff Physician in the Infirmary at Western Correctional Institution in Cumberland, MD. Responsible for medical assessments and evaluations, treatment of emergent, urgent, and routine medical issues, and supervision of medical treatment for chronic conditions within a correctional setting. Collaborates with the Site Medical Director and Health Services Administrator to ensure efficient, clinically appropriate medical services. Monday–Friday day shift. Requires MD or DO, active license, and Board Certified/Eligible in FM/IM/EM Primary Care. DEA and CDS registrations needed; credentialing and background check required. Required Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school required
- Active and unrestricted MD/DO license or the ability to obtain one required
- Board Certified/Eligible in FM/IM/EM Primary Care required
- Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and (CDS) registration required
- Correctional Healthcare experience preferred not required
- Ability to pass credentialing and background check
