Job Summary
Conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, and manage chronic conditions for patients within the correctional facility. Formulate working diagnoses, develop treatment plans, and evaluate therapeutic regimens while responding to medical emergencies throughout the site. Lead and participate in educational training activities, conduct rounds in medical and infirmary units, and ensure compliance with State, Federal, and court mandates. Collaborate with correctional officers and other medical professionals to maintain patient safety and confidentiality. Requires an Arizona MD/DO license, DEA registration, and Board Certification in Family or Internal Medicine. Full-time or part-time shifts available with pay ranging from $120 to $137 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO)
- Must hold a current unrestricted license as a physician in Arizona
- A current DEA registration in STATE
- Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family or Internal Medicine
- Ability to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred)
- Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues
- Must possess strong written communication and verbal skills and have strong computer skills
- Experience in general medicine, a strong knowledge of current medical principles and practices, and the ability to collaborate with medical team
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
