Job Summary

Verify completeness and accuracy of all new and refill labels, orders, and medication packaging including emergency drug kits and IV medications. Maintain resident databases with current medical history, clinical data, and concurrent medications. Assist in ordering, handling, receiving, documentation, and storage of controlled substances while reconciling perpetual inventory for schedule II drugs. Provide clinical expertise by responding to drug-related questions and document all communication with physicians, nurses, and patients. Prepare and supervise sterile IV drug products or solutions. This role includes evening, weekend, and holiday coverage during rotation. Candidates must perform accurately when dispensing prescription medications and adhere to state and federal guidelines. Experience using FrameworkLTC and Microsoft Office tools is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Pharmacist license active and in good standing in the state of practice
  • Bachelor's degree or Pharmacy Doctorate from an accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Minimum of two (2) year's recent experience in an acute-care setting or one (1) year experience as a production pharmacist preferred (not required)
  • Experience using FrameworkLTC
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed verbal and written communication skills with English as the primary language
  • Ability to work independently as well as working in a team environment, meets deadlines, establish priorities, and be flexible, work under pressure with multiple tasks
  • Must have strong organizational, customer service, and time management skills
  • Ability to problem solve
  • This position must exhibit maturity in judgment
  • Ability to work flexible hours, which may include evening, weekends, and holidays
  • May lift and/or move up to 30 pounds

Desired Qualifications

  • Management experience preferred
  • Experience and knowledge base of intravenous admixtures services and intravenous therapy desired
