Job Summary
Staff Pharmacist role supports LRBOI Pharmacy by ensuring safe, effective, and compliant operations under the supervision of the Chief Pharmacist. Responsibilities include reviewing prescriptions for accuracy, counseling patients on drug interactions and proper storage, evaluating identity/strength/purity of medications, maintaining pharmacy records and controlled substance logs, collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize therapies, overseeing procurement and 340B program requirements, and delivering culturally sensitive patient education. The position requires ACPE-accredited PharmD or BPharm, Michigan licensure or eligibility, strong inventory management, regulatory and IT fluency, immunization certification, and the ability to work in a climate-controlled medical office environment with travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an ACPE accredited institution
- Current, unrestricted pharmacist license in Michigan or eligibility to obtain licensure before start
- Demonstrated expertise in pharmaceutical inventory management, including medication procurement, tracking, storage, and security
- Ability to communicate complex clinical, regulatory, information technology, quality standards to Pharmacy Department staff and administration
- Working knowledge of clinical, financial, and regulatory resources and reference materials
- Excellent communication and patient education skills with ability to guide on disease states, treatment goals, medication administration, storage, and precautions
- Willingness to perform duties as assigned by supervisor
- Immunization certification and ability to administer immunizations per protocols
