Job Summary
Interpret and fill drug orders, dispense prescriptions, compound medications, and prepare I.V. admixtures while monitoring therapy for contraindications and interactions. Provide patient counseling, maintain medication records, and manage inventory and controlled drugs. Act as the alternate store leader when the Pharmacy Manager is absent, supervise pharmacy technicians, and contact physicians regarding prescription irregularities. Participate in inventory control, educational programs, and performance improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with ethical business policies and OIG/SAMS lists. Submit accurate biweekly timesheets and mentor departmental staff.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or Pharm. D., from an approved school of pharmacy and registration by the state board of licensure
- Clear/Active License to practice pharmacy in TX
Desired Qualifications
- One-year experience as a practicing pharmacist
- Retail or Mail Order experience
