Job Summary
Inpatient Staff Pharmacist responsible for the evaluation, preparation and dispensing of medications in the Augusta Health Inpatient Pharmacy. Duties include supervising pharmacy technicians, technician trainees, and pharmacist interns; overseeing distribution and handling of controlled substances; ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and formulary guidelines; optimizing pharmacy automation and software; reviewing medication orders for completeness and safety; initiating drug therapy regimens per protocols and coordinating lab monitoring; providing drug information to the healthcare team; training students (IPPE/APPE); contributing to performance improvement activities and professional standards; capable of leadership in a busy, multi-shift environment with focus on patient safety and therapeutic outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed as a Pharmacist by the Commonwealth of Virginia
