Job Summary
Interpret physicians' prescriptions, contact doctors or patients to verify information, and expedite order processing. Consult with patients regarding medication use and potential drug interactions, while collaborating with physicians to convert prescriptions to generic or preferred drugs. Provide oversight and quality assurance to pharmacy technicians, verify controlled substances, and confirm validity of prescription information entered in the system. Back up other pharmacists as needed and train less experienced staff. This role involves interpreting prescriptions and managing order status to maintain daily production, quality, and service levels.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
- Current active resident pharmacist license in good standing
- Ability to read and interpret prescriptions
- Ability to work a flexible schedule for peak volume times
- Internet connection with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload
