Job Summary
Lead the planning and execution of credit management and debt collection strategies for Rakuten Mobile’s corporate business. Manage complex/high-priority cases, including coordinating legal actions with external experts. Build and develop the team (team management and development) and report to executive management. Drive strategic planning, KPI definition, and budget management; promote data-driven decision-making and automation to establish scalable collection systems from scratch. Partner with sales to implement a consultative approach that protects and sustains revenue, and be prepared to play a key role in future risk management and business operations across the Rakuten Group. The role includes early ownership of key projects, prioritizing operational excellence, and eventual career progression into broader risk management and business operations responsibilities. This is a leadership position with a focus on building a strong organization and ensuring sustainable revenue streams for the mobile corporate business.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience in accounts receivable management, credit management, risk management, or business operations/management functions
- Skills in structuring and documenting work: able to interview frontline teams, identify issues, and translate them into manuals and workflows that anyone can execute
- Logical thinking and communication skills: able to articulate the need for rules and their risk-reduction impact based on objective evidence
- Cross-functional coordination skills: experience aligning stakeholders across departments with differing interests and driving consensus as an organization
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience managing a team of 3 or more people
- Experience launching new businesses or standing up new operational/planning functions
- Experience understanding practical aspects of legal proceedings (such as payment demands and litigation) and leading collaboration with external experts
- Led the end-to-end rollout of new internal policies or operating rules, from explaining them to the field through adoption and stabilization
- Basic knowledge of, or practical experience with, legal collection actions (e.g., payment demands, litigation)
