Job Summary

Provide and coordinate comprehensive care for patients of all ages through evaluation, planning, and implementation of treatment plans in accordance with established standards. Treat patients in aquatic environments while recommending and performing modalities ordered by referring physicians. Consistently evaluate patients with differing diagnoses to devise individualized plans of care and educate them on disease processes and rehabilitation techniques. Actively research new services, present in-services, and participate in department projects, committees, and task groups as requested. Serve as a role model in treatment delivery and facilitate effective teamwork with nursing and other rehab staff. Maintain active involvement in clinical supervision and education within the student program. Full-time days schedule with a $10,000 sign-on bonus. Requires Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy and current Illinois licensure.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Licensed or license pending in the State of Illinois without previous disciplinary action in Illinois or other states
  • Current CPR card
  • Current Illinois Licensure as Occupational Therapist or license eligible
  • Healthcare Provider or Instructor BLS certification
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of proper procedure for all Occupational therapy modalities, including age-specific, precautions and contra-indications
  • Ability to consistently and thoroughly evaluate patients with differing diagnoses and devise an individualized, comprehensive plan of care based on facts and best practice
  • Ability to recommend and perform treatment as ordered by referring physician
  • Ability to educate about disease process, equipment use, and rehabilitation techniques, as appropriate
  • Ability to actively research and develop new services and suggest improvements to existing services
  • Ability to treat patients in aquatic environment
  • Ability to engage in at least one activity per year which promotes individualized professional development
  • Ability to serve as a role model in the delivery of O.T. treatment
  • Ability to facilitate effective team work with nursing and other rehab staff
  • Ability to maintain active involvement in clinical supervision/education within the student program
  • Ability to participate in department projects, committees, task groups, tours, etc. as requested
  • Ability to perform evidence based research and implement/share with other staff
  • Ability to present in-services to department, other hospital service areas and/or community as requested
  • Ability to participate in marketing activities to maintain high caseload for IP and OP
  • Ability to perform other related work as required or requested
