Job Summary
Staff Nurse in the Operating Room (OR) responsible for delivering patient-centered nursing care through the nursing process, including assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Prescribes, delegates and coordinates nursing care across the LMHS system, communicating with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Must have knowledge of OR instrumentation, maintain sterile technique, accurately document in case records, troubleshoot scheduling and equipment issues, obtain/prepare supplies per physician preference, verify surgical sites, manage medications and tissue/specimens, and maintain equipment integrity. Requires Ohio RN licensure and proficiency with related software; supports LMHS commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and safe, high-quality patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Current Ohio RN license
- BSN
- Knowledge of sterile technique
- Ability to document accurately in patient records
- Proficient in MSM software application
- Safe operation of electrosurgical and power equipment
- Ability to obtain and prepare supplies and equipment per physician preference
- Accurate verification of surgical site per protocol
- Ability to manage medications and tissue/specimens per protocol
