Job Summary
Conduct safe, evidence-based patient care in the PACU while managing time, resources, and equipment adherence to NMBI guidelines. Assess patients individually, develop care plans, provide delegation, and maintain accurate documentation within a multidisciplinary team. Participate in ongoing professional development, support department operations, and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, physicians, and families. Provide cross-cover within the department, assist co-workers, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Maintain a professional portfolio, act as preceptor, and engage in performance reviews. Remain flexible for rotations, night duty, and theatre on-call.
Required Qualifications
- NMBI Registered General Nurse
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum of one year post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting
- Proven clinical competence
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrates motivation and commitment to the role
- Communicates clearly and professionally
- Strong planning, organisational, and time management skills
- Flexible approach to rotations, rostering, night duty, and theatre on-call
- Recent and relevant experience in the specialised area within an acute setting
- Understanding of national strategies relevant to nursing care
