Job Summary
Provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care to assigned patients on the Orthopaedic Inpatient Unit in Dublin, Ireland. Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualized care plans, and administer treatments while monitoring and documenting physical and behavioural changes. Perform admission, discharge, and transfer procedures, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control policies. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and accreditation processes. Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes. Support professional development through mandatory training, mentoring students, and attending performance reviews. Maintain flexibility for internal rotations, night duty, and on-call requirements. Hold a valid NMBI registration with recent acute hospital experience.
Required Qualifications
- Hold a valid and active General Nurse registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) in good standing
- Possess recent and relevant nursing experience within an acute hospital setting
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Show motivation, initiative, and an innovative approach towards patient care and professional responsibilities
- Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate effective planning, organisational, and time management skills
- Maintain a flexible and adaptable approach to work schedules, including internal rotations, night duty, and on-call requirements
- Demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of developments, best practices, and advancements within the specialised nursing area
- Show awareness and understanding of relevant national healthcare and nursing strategies applicable to patient care
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care while treating patients, families, and colleagues with dignity, empathy, and respect
